PM Modi Inaugurates Rs 34,400 Crore Worth of Projects in Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth Rs 34,400 crores in Chhattisgarh under the initiative of “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Chhattisgarh”. These projects span several critical sectors, including Roads, Railways, Coal, Power, and Solar Energy.

In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these projects in realizing the dream of a developed Chhattisgarh. He praised the hardworking farmers, talented youth, and the state’s abundant natural resources. PM Modi highlighted that while Chhattisgarh possessed all the necessary ingredients for development, previous administrations lacked a grand vision.

Key Highlights of the Projects:

  1. NTPC’s Lara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-I (2×800 MW): The Prime Minister dedicated this project to the nation. It was built with an investment of approximately Rs 15,800 crore. The project utilizes highly efficient Super Critical technology and will contribute significantly to power generation in Chhattisgarh and neighboring states.
  2. NTPC’s Lara Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II (2×800 MW): The foundation stone for this expansion project was laid during the ceremony. Stage II will be constructed on the available land of Stage I premises, requiring no additional land. The investment for this stage is Rs 15,530 crore. The project aims to reduce Specific Coal Consumption and Carbon Dioxide emissions.
  3. Road Upgradation Projects: As part of the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Corridor Connectivity, 43 roads, including 38 bridges, will be upgraded. These projects will enhance connectivity and boost economic growth in the region.
