In a dramatic turn of events, Akshay Shinde, the primary accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case, was shot during an exchange of fire with police on Monday. Shinde, who was accused of sexually assaulting two minor girls at a school in Badlapur, Thane district, attempted to escape police custody by snatching a firearm from one of the officers.
The incident occurred while Shinde was being transported from Taloja jail to Badlapur for further investigation.
