manipur

In a tragic incident, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives during a militant attack in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. The targeted camp, which belonged to the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), was located in Naranseina, within the jurisdiction of the Moirang police station. The attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday, leaving two other personnel injured.

The militants fired indiscriminately from hilltops, targeting the camp. The attack began around 12:30 AM and continued until approximately 2:15 AM. The assailants also hurled bombs, one of which exploded in the outpost of CRPF’s 128th battalion. The deceased were identified as CRPF Sub-Inspector N. Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini. Fortunately, the injured personnel, Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Das, sustained splinter wounds and were admitted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Search Operation in Manipur:

Police have initiated a massive search operation to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous attack. The incident has prompted heightened security measures in the region as authorities strive to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent further violence.

In another unfortunate incident in Manipur, a violent confrontation between two factions resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man. The armed clash occurred at Sinam Kom, situated on the boundary between the Kangpkopi and Imphal East districts. Following the incident, a ‘village volunteer’ was reported missing and subsequently discovered deceased on Saturday morning. The victim was identified as Laishram Prem. Security personnel have been deployed to the affected area to prevent any further escalation3. The motive for the attack is yet to be ascertained.

Our thoughts are with the families of the fallen CRPF personnel. We hope for a swift resolution to these acts of violence in Manipur. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
