The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its efforts to apprehend the suspect behind the twin blasts that rocked The Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on March 1. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are meticulously tracking the movements of the alleged bomber.

Suspect’s Trail

Minister for Home, Dr. G Parameshwar, expressed confidence that the suspect would soon be in custody. According to leads obtained by the investigating teams, the suspect was traced to Tumakuru, approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Bengaluru. The suspect’s journey from Bengaluru Cafe to Tumakuru was reportedly via a bus1.

Surveillance Footage

Detectives from the Central Crime Branch, Bengaluru, and the NIA are diligently piecing together evidence. Recently, video footage emerged showing the suspected bomber aboard a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus. The footage captures the suspect boarding the bus at around 11:42 AM on March 1, shortly after allegedly planting the bombs at The Rameshwaram Cafe. The suspect’s actions were calculated; he chose a seat in front row to avoid detection by the bus’s surveillance camera.

Further Investigation

The investigation has led the teams to Tumakuru, where they are examining surveillance camera footage to verify the suspect’s movements. Additionally, they arrived in Ballari City, approximately 300 kilometers from Bengaluru, to gather more information about the suspect. Authorities believe that the suspect may have traveled further north-east from Tumakuru, and every bus along the route is being scrutinized for any leads.

Recovered Evidence

In a significant development, investigators recovered a cap believed to have been worn by the suspect during the attack. The cap was found in Hoodi, Bengaluru, near The Rameshwaram Cafe. The suspect’s identity remains a priority, and the NIA has announced a cash bounty of Rs. 10 lakh for any information leading to his capture.

The twin blasts at The Rameshwaram Cafe left ten people injured, and the investigation continues to unravel the motives and network behind this heinous act. As the NIA tightens its grip, the suspect’s days on the run appear numbered.
