Rohit Sharma to Lead India’s Squad in Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

T20 World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Veteran opener Rohit Sharma will lead the side in their quest for a record third T20 World Cup title, with all-rounder Hardik Pandya named as his deputy.

The squad sees a return to form for Virat Kohli, who has been in scintillating touch this season. The batting line-up boasts further firepower with the likes of the in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal and the ever-reliable Suryakumar Yadav.

Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson will be vying for the wicket-keeper’s slot, both having impressed in recent outings. The bowling attack features a potent mix of experience and youth, with Jasprit Bumrah leading the pace attack alongside Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh. The spin department will be spearheaded by the wily Kuldeep Yadav and the consistent Yuzvendra Chahal, with Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel offering all-round options.

Shivam Dube finds himself back in the squad after a string of impressive performances in domestic tournaments. With Hardik Pandya’s bowling fitness being a question mark, Dube could be a crucial pick as a seam-bowling all-rounder.
