Akhilesh Yadav Announces Strategic Alliance with Congress in Uttar Pradesh for Lok Sabha Elections

The political landscape in Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a significant development as the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress have finally sealed a seat-sharing deal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. After days of suspense and bickering, the two allies of the INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc have come to an agreement.

The details of the deal are expected to be announced later today. The alliance aims to consolidate their position in the state and present a united front against their opponents.

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the SP, confirmed the alliance during a press conference in Moradabad. His statement marks the end of bitterness between the two parties, which had previously resulted in Akhilesh Yadav not joining Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in the state. The SP chief had insisted on finalizing the seat-sharing deal with Congress before participating in the joint campaign.

When asked about his earlier remarks against the grand old party, Akhilesh stated, “All is well that ends well. Yes, there will be an alliance. There is no conflict. Everything will be out and clear soon.”

How many Seats Akhilesh Yadav Samajwadi Party offer to Congress?

According to reports, the SP has offered 17 seats to the Congress in the state. However, the grand old party had initially sought three more seats. Uttar Pradesh has a total of 80 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party had tied up with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and secured 5 seats, while the Congress managed to win just one seat in Rae Bareli, which was retained by Sonia Gandhi. Notably, the Congress faced a setback in its bastion of Amethi, where Rahul Gandhi was defeated by the BJP’s Smriti Irani.

As the alliance takes shape, political observers are closely watching how this collaboration will impact the electoral dynamics in Uttar Pradesh. With both parties coming together, the battle for the state’s parliamentary representation intensifies, and voters await further details on the seat-sharing arrangement.

In the words of Akhilesh Yadav, “All is well that ends well.” The alliance between the SP and the Congress signifies a strategic move ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, and it remains to be seen how this partnership will play out in the coming months.
