Two people tragically lost their lives in a horrific accident in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar. The incident occurred at 3:15 am when Anish Awadiya and Ashwini Costa were returning home with friends on motorcycles after a night of partying at a club. The driver responsible for this devastating collision was a 17-year-old boy named Vedant Agarwal, who was behind the wheel of a luxury Porsche Taycan.
The speeding Porsche rammed into the motorcycle at the Kalyani Nagar junction, propelling the two riders into the air. They tragically landed on another car and died instantly.
Locals swiftly apprehended the young driver, and in their anger, they physically confronted him before handing him over to the police. A case has been registered against him at the Yerawada police station under various sections, including rash driving, death by negligence, endangering human life, and causing grievous hurt. Additionally, provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act apply in this case1.
