The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has unveiled the final results of the highly anticipated Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023. This rigorous selection process began with the preliminary exam on May 28, 2023, and culminated in the personality tests conducted between January 2 and April 9, 2024. With a total of 1,105 positions up for grabs, candidates vied for prestigious roles in various government departments.
The Journey to Excellence
Candidates who cleared the preliminary exam proceeded to the mains held in September 2023. Only those who emerged successful in the mains were called for the personality tests. A total of 1,026 candidates faced this final hurdle. The UPSC CSE final results now determine who will join the coveted ranks of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and other central services.

The CSE has witnessed a positive trend in recent years, with an increasing number of female candidates securing top ranks. In 2022, women dominated the top positions, with Ishita Kishore bagging the All India Rank (AIR) 1. Similarly, Shruti Sharma secured AIR 1 in the 2021 UPSC CSE exam.
