In a significant move to boost startup ecosystem, the Centre will launch the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR). This digital platform aims to centralize and enhance collaboration among key stakeholders within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, investors etc.

Piyush Goyal will officially launch BHASKAR, aligning with PM Modi’s vision of transforming India into a global leader in entrepreneurship.

Key Features of BHASKAR:

  • Centralized Registry: BHASKAR will serve as world’s largest digital registry for stakeholders, providing seamless access to wide array of resources.
  • Networking and Collaboration: The platform allows seamless interaction and bridges the gap between various sectors.
  • Personalized BHASKAR IDs: Each stakeholder will receive a unique ID, ensuring personalized interactions and tailored experiences across the platform.
  • Enhanced Discoverability: Powerful search features will enable users to easily locate relevant resources, collaborators, and opportunities, ensuring faster decision-making and action.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is the nodal agency for this initiative. By consolidating resources, BHASKAR aims to provide startups with immediate access to critical tools and knowledge, enabling faster decision-making.

Impact on India’s Startup Ecosystem:

India is currently home to over 1.46 lakh recognized startups, employing over 1 million youth. The launch of BHASKAR will further accelerate the growth of this ecosystem by providing a centralized hub for collaboration and resource sharing. This initiative is a testament to the government’s ongoing efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation in the country1.

As India’s startup ecosystem continues to grow, BHASKAR will play a critical role in enhancing the global standing in entrepreneurship. The government invites all stakeholders to become part of this transformative initiative, shaping the future of India’s startups.
